This Roman D20, dated to the 2nd century AD was found in Egypt during the 1920’s. Presumed to have been used in gambling games of some sort, it is 5.2cm tall, made of glass with a distinct symbol on each side and was sold at auction for $17,925.
I had no idea that D20s, or polyhedra if we want to be technical, were that old and I can’t help imaging a bunch of Roman’s sitting around in the forum playing Minotaurs & Mazes.
