Gods of the World

The Greek gods are not alone. Just around the Mediterranean, there are several civilisations and cultures that worship entirely different pantheons. The gods hold dominion where they are worshipped, living in symbiosis with their supporting culture, tying together the fortunes of the pantheon and the culture. When a culture’s gods are active and dynamic they become involved in the mortal life and support champions that promote and enhance the culture. When a culture’s gods become dormant, that culture faces the risk of stagnation and weakness, which the champions of other cultures will exploit in the name of their gods. The Greek gods form one part of this world, but are the focus of the New Legends.
