Range Combat

Combat at range covers any situation where projectiles are being launched at a target. The projectile may be a bullet, an intercontinental ballistic missile or a magic spell.

Regardless of the weapon being used, all range combat is resolved the same way as melee attacks. However, there are two factors that make range attacks different from melee attacks:

  • Range attacks are generally harder to defend against
  • There are more situation bonuses involved due to range and cover

Not all range attacks target individuals. With some, such as a grenade, the attacker is targeting a location. These are indirect attacks.
