The 1st Lord

  • The current 1st Lord of Twill is Lord Haversage. Appointed by the Emperor he sits proudly in his castle but all know he has little real power. #Common
  • Every year, the Council of Twill votes and recommends a Chancellor to the 1st Lord but the 1st Lord has final say. This is one of few pieces of real power the 1st Lord has. #Uncommon
  • Marshal Devermond is the commander of the First Lord's personal guard and Twill's militia. #Gossip
  • Lord Twitterville's aged mother sits beside him in council. She rarely speaks in public, but her sharp ears miss nothing. #Gossip

The Chancellor

  • Chancellor Verdik is the real power behind the 1st Lord but in secret he reports and obeys a higher power. #Gossip
  • Chancellor Verdik chairs Twill council. Officially the council only advises the 1st Lord but in reality, they run the city. #Uncommon
  • Chancellor Verdik is accompanied by a shady character who many believes dabbles in demonic arts. #Uncommon
  • Many figures in society, such as the Esthursa Sangoria, aspire to be Chancellor and vie to win the favour of the council and the 1st Lord of Twill. #Gossip
    • The Sangoria Family are eastern traders that have permanent residence in Twill. #Uncommon
      • Their patriach is named Esthursa Mualik Sangoria, believed to be a half-breed of eastern peoples and western blood. #Uncommon
      • The Sangoria houses any Asha that passes through Twill in their lavishing manor. #Secret
  • The ceremonial scepter of the 1st Lord of Twill can magically open any door or lock within the city walls. #Gossip

City Council

  • The Council of Twill also includes the high priests of the major religions, heads of the major guilds, Marshal Devermond and Lord Justice Avernose. #Common
  • The Thieves Guilds do not officially have seats on the Council of Twill but they are represented by one of the council members. #Uncommon
  • There is fierce rivalry amongst the smaller guilds and groups to gain a place on the Twill council as it brings status and power. #Gossip
    • Chancellor Verdik decides who has a seat on the Council of Twill and he use this as a carrot and a stick to achieve his own ends. #Gossip

Magic

  • The Guild of Arcana wants to build a University to study magic, much to the protest of the 1st Lord. #Uncommon
  • There has been a 'hidden war' between psions and arcanists for many years now, in Twill, but what are they fighting about? #Gossip
  • Only the most powerful wizards live in the Wizards Guild's Tower and that they watch over Twill like a spider on its web. #Common
  • Marshal Devermond wants to train a retinue of wizards for the army, much to the protest of the Wizard Guild. #Unommon
  • Grand Master Topenkar is the public head of the Wizards Guild of #Twitterville but some say he is just a figurehead for the secret masters. #Gossip
  • Golden Scale is a merchants' guild in #Twill. Their word is the only word which coin can be spent. #Gossip
  • The Iron Brotherhood of the #Twitterville is the biggest mercenary guild in town. Its members have a code which they all follow. #Gossip
    • The Iron Brotherhood is led by Thagor, son of Horgat, a dwarf from the foothills west of Twill. #Uncommon
