Ophis Pteretos, Large
The ophis pteretos are serpents native to Arabia. They are around the size of normal vipers, venomous, and fly by means of two sets of wings along their length. They thrive where frankincense trees grow and impede the harvesting of this valuable material. Every year the population of ophis pteretos increases wildly until many thousands of them take to the air and migrate to Egypt. There the snake-eating Black Ibis bird helps keep the population down.
