28 Heroines – Hanna vid Hrula

In the Empire of Athosie, the many petty sub-kings, dukes, counts and merchant landowners are forever quarrelling. Keeping the peace between them and preventing fracture of the empire consumes the life of the emperor and it now also consumes the life of his daughter and presumed elected heir.  It is the waiting that tests Hanna the most.  Be it travelling between castles, waiting to be received or the endless long winded speeches, boredom is ever present. She understands why her father has her moving back and forth across the archipelago. As heir, she is is his most visible and notable representative and her words carry not just his weight but the weight of her rule to come.  Hanna also knows full well that her ascension to the throne relies on the good will of the electors she now treats.

28 Heroines

RPG character inspiration for each day in February. Heroines with personality, depth and a problem to resolve.

It was simpler in the capitol.  All the intrigued stayed within the palace so the furthest Hanna had to go for a meeting were the far edges of the gardens. She suspects that her father is growing more fearful for her safety. Sending her on diplomatic missions seems like a reward for good service but it also keeps her away from the scheming of courtiers and officials. Hanna didn’t appreciate being separated from the game she was learning to play so well, particularly as she believes she still has much to learn from being at her father’s side.
